For ECML PKDD 2013 in Prague, Czech Republic, we solicit submissions for demos. Submissions must describe working systems and be based on state-of-the-art machine learning and data mining technology. These systems may be innovative prototype implementations or mature systems that use machine learning techniques and knowledge discovery processes in a real setting. We particularly welcome demos that use open-source software and offer innovative services.

The Machine Learning for Document Access and Translation group of the Xerox Research Centre Europe conducts research in Statistical Machine Translation and Multimodal Information Access Technologies using advanced machine learning methods.
We are opening one position for a senior researcher with a strong background in Machine Learning to support our activities.
Required experience and qualifications:
• PhD in computer science, mathematics, statistics with focus on Machine Learning
• 4+ years of post-doctoral experience as ML research scientist

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for two PhD studentships in Machine Translation connected to the MODIST project. MODIST (Modelling Discourse in Statistical Translation) is an EPSRC project aimed at modelling discourse level relationships across sentences in statistical machine translation. The studentships will be dedicated to one of the following projects:

***A framework for learning valid transitions across machine translated sentences based on rich bilingual linguistic information.
