Dear Colleagues,
COLT 2011 Call for Papers
The 24rd Annual Conference on Learning Theory (COLT 2011) will take
place in Budapest, Hungary, on July 9-11, 2011. It will be co-located
with the Foundations of Computational Mathematics conference (FOCM
2011, Budapest, July 4th - 14th, 2011).
We invite submissions of papers addressing theoretical aspects of
machine learning and empirical inference. We strongly support a broad
definition of learning theory, including:
* Analysis of learning algorithms and their generalization ability
* Computational complexity of learning
* Bayesian analysis

Postdoctoral position in Machine Learing, University of Bristol
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding postdoctoral researcher with a background
in machine learning or statistics to contribute to a project with a core aim
of understanding the genetic basis of certain human diseases.
Technological changes in the field of human genetics have resulted in an unprecedented rate of data
generation, offering new opportunities for researchers with expertise in handling, integrating
and analysing large datasets. The goal of this Medical Research Council funded project is to

-- Submission Deadline: October 17, 2010 --
In the current era of web-scale datasets, high throughput biology, and
multilanguage machine translation, modern datasets no longer fit on a
single computer and traditional machine learning algorithms often have
prohibitively long running times. Parallel and distributed machine
learning is no longer a luxury; it has become a necessity. Moreover,

ICANN 2011: Call for Workshops and Tutorials
CALL FOR WORKSHOP AND TUTORIAL PROPOSALS
We invite researchers interested in chairing a workshop or a tutorial
at ICANN 2011, The Twentieth Anniversary International Conference on
Artificial Neural Networks, to submit proposals for workshops and
tutorials.
ICANN 2011 brings together the two main sources of inspiration for
research on computational modeling of adaptive and learning systems:
- statistical and mathematical principles, and
- human brain and cognition.
VENUE:
ICANN 2011 will take place at the Aalto University School of Science
