Master's program in Machine Learning and Data Mining
Given their complementary expertise in the fields of Machine Learning and Data Mining, the University of Saint-Etienne (France) and the University of Alicante (Spain) offer a new two-year Master's program, called MLDM.
MLDM relies on the Web Intelligence Master's carried out by the UJM (Faculté des Sciences et Techniques) and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne (French side), and the Master's Tecnologías de la Informática of the University of Alicante (Spanish side).
Nectar Track at ECML/PKDD 2013, Call for papers
The European Conference on “Machine Learning” and “Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases” (ECML-PKDD) provides an international forum to high-quality research results in all areas related to machine learning and knowledge discovery in databases and related application domains.
The goal of the Nectar Track is to offer conference attendees a compact
overview of recent scientific advances at the frontier of machine learning
and data mining, as published in related conferences and journals. We

Associate Professor in “Machine-Learning for Big Data”
The group dedicated to Research in Statistics (the research group STA), within the Signal & Image
processing department (the TSI Dpt.), is recruiting an Associate Professor in the domain of
machine-learning. All fields related to machine-learning are of interest for the team and a
specialization in Machine-Learning for Big Data, focusing on scalable, parallel/distributed and
on-line algorithms, will be favorably considered. Graph-mining, reinforcement learning and
optimization are other topics of special interest for the group.
