Position: MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER - Emerging Technologies – 204972

Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile, portable, hand-held consumer electronics products, like the Kindle family of products including e-readers and tablets.

The Role:
· Use statistical and machine learning techniques to help our products behave intelligently and delight the end user.
· Design, development and evaluation of highly innovative models for predictive learning.
· Work closely with software engineering teams to drive real-time model implementations and new feature creation.
· Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation and model implementation.
Research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches.
Basic Qualifications:
· A Masters degree in Computer Science Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics or related field.
· 7+ years of Software development experience.
· 2+ years of hands-on experience in.
· 1+ years of experience in using SAS or Matlab or any other statistical software.
· Skills with Java or C++, Perl (or similar scripting language).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Strong communication and data presentation skills.
· Strong Problem solving ability.
· A PhD in CS machine learning, Operational research, or Statistics.
· 3+ years of industry experience in predictive modeling and analysis.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree based on 3 years of work experience for every 1 year of education
• 7+ years professional experience in software development
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design
• Computer Science fundamentals in data structures
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Perl
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
• Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team
• Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
